How To Burn Body Fat And Lose Weight 24 Hrs A Day - Lose Fat Even When Sleeping

To burn fat 24 hrs a day is simple. Yes, I said simple but I did not say it is easy. That is because you must have a firm commitment and mental discipline to do it. However, it will get easier and easier when you adapt to your new lifestyle and when your lose fat goal is achieved.

So how do you burn fat 24 hrs a day? Here are some simple steps to lose fat 24 hrs a day.

•Build muscles. Muscles are active cells and they are great calorie burners. The more muscles you pack on, the more body fat you will burn because the calories you have eaten will be burned for energy by your muscles.

•Do your cardio exercises in the morning before breakfast. Make sure that your cardio exercises raise your heart rate sufficiently to burn more fat. The exercises must be intensive and will leave you puffing, panting and sweating. This is to make sure that you will continue to burn calories hours after you stopped your cardio exercises.

Do your cardio exercise 5-6 days a week. On top of that, because your carbohydrate store is low in the morning, your body will burn more body fat to fuel your cardio exercises.

•Eat 5-6 times a day with about 3 hrs intervals. Make the meals small consisting protein and complex carbohydrate. Complex carbs are carbs that are more difficult to digest so that they do not spike insulin quickly to be converted into body fat. So instead of eating white rice, eat brown rice. Instead of having white bread, substitute it with brown bread instead. Have plenty of fresh leafy fibrous vegetables.

The frequency of meals will tell your body that there is plenty of food and so your body need not store body fat for emergencies. On top of that, your digestive system will be constantly working to digest the food and so that means burning of calories.

•Do weight training 3 times a week with rest days in between. Do your weight workout in the evenings so that you will continue to burn fat. Workout with compound exercises such as bench presses, squats, lunges, dead lifts etc to activate more muscle fibers and so that these large muscles will carry on burning calories for many more hours into the night.

•Take slow release protein supplement before bed such as cassein protein. This is to feed your body throughout the night and help your muscles to recover from the day's activities and at the same because casein protein is slow to digest, your body will continue burning calories even when you are asleep.

So with a combination of all these activities, you will be burning body fat almost 24 hrs a day. Simple? Great. Let's start to lose weight by burning body fat round the clock now.

How to Lose Water Weight - Great Shape-Up Tips

When we retain excess water in our bodies, our arms, legs, and stomachs swell and we experience a feeling of lethargy and heaviness. But what causes it? More importantly, can it be treated? The following are a few tips on how to lose water weight the safe way:

-Ironically, the more we drink, the more we get rid of excess water in the body. Because of this, you should always carry with you a handy water bottle so you can give yourself several gulps wherever and whenever you need to. A handy 32- or 64-ounce beverage container is perfect, and make sure to consume water in 1 or 2 of these daily.

-Keep off the salt. Stay away from salty foods as sodium exacerbates the situation. Particularly notorious foods are salted nuts, olives, junk foods, potato chips, and several types of frozen food. Less obvious foods that are nonetheless high in sodium and should therefore be avoided are cheeses, ketchup, deli offerings, and soy sauce.

-Keep off sugary foods as well. You can reduce water retention by lessening your daily sugar intake. Cut down on cookies, cakes, ice cream, and syrups. Soda is also a no-no, and diet sodas arent much help, either. How to lose water weight without depriving your sweet tooth? Gnaw on fruits instead.

-Squeeze in some lime. Adding a touch of lemon or lime to your water does the trick. Citrus fruits are great diuretics, making you urinate more often and therefore get rid of excess fluids in the body. In addition, lemon or lime gives a refreshing flavor to any drink. Another cheap but effective diuretic is tea. Keep away from alcohol, though.

-Include in your diet foods that induce the shedding of excess fluid in the body. Some examples are cereals, cabbage, cranberry juice, and brown rice. Ever heard of the cabbage soup diet? The lowly cabbage can really work wonders for your figure!

-Dont overdo slimming. Again, here is another irony: Excessive cutting down on calories aggravates water retention. Make it a point to eat more than 1,200 calories a day, and include lean meat as protein. You may possibly lose weight due to a drastic reduction in calories, but youll retain water as a consequence if dieting is overdone.

-Exercise a lot. Swelling of the extremities is also caused by a sedentary lifestyle. You need to move around more to help you sweat and get rid of perspiration plus the excess sodium in your body. When you dont exercise enough, the lymphatic system cant drain out excess fluid and toxins from your body. Take up swimming if you cant decide on how to lose water weight. The relaxation will do you good.

-Eat three small meals rather than three big meals daily. Nibbling several times a day keeps you hydrated and nourished and prevents the rush of fluid to the tissues, which normally happens when one takes huge meals.

My Keys To Gaining Muscle And Losing Fat

If you want to learn my personal keys to gaining muscle and losing fat, keep reading because I will reveal them below.

Last night, I had the pleasure and opportunity to attend one of Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace" seminars here in Portland, Maine.

For those of you who do not know, Dave Ramsey is a financial consultant, best-selling author, and popular radio talk show host. I highly recommend that if you get to see him speak in person, that you go. He is phenomenal!!

He spoke of a couple of things that really got me thinking about how things really work in life if you just follow certain principles.

Now, I often go to seminars, not only for my personal benefit, but so that I may relay any information I learn that may be useful to my clients and newsletter subscribers in my business.

Last night was no exception.

Dave first mentioned that, if you want to achieve wealth and become finacially independent, you must learn from other rich, wealthy people, not from people that have their own opinions but nothing to show for it.

I thought of this point in fitness as well.

It seems everyone has an opinion as to what should be done and what works, but how many people have actually put it to action and have done what they know so much about.

I can remember growing up, hearing my family doctor tell me how important exercise was to health, yet he was extremely overweight.

So, to put Dave's advice on modeling others into gaining muscle mass, seek out those that have already achieved what it is you want and copy some of the things they have done.

It worked for him in his life, where he learned certain principles from wealthy people that worked and when he applied them in his own life, he became a millionaire many times over.

Dave also talked about certain truths with money, laws that must be followed if you want to achieve true wealth.

These are laws that, much like the law of gravity, occur whether you want them to or not. If you jump off a building, the law of gravity will occur and you will hit the ground, no matter what.

He called these laws "No Matter Whats" because they work every single time, NO MATTER WHAT you think about them.

I though about this point as it relates to fitness and I realized that there are also many "No Matter Whats" in the fitness and exercise world.

I thought about many of them and that if you just followed them, they would work, NO MATTER WHAT!

Here is my top ten list of NO MATTER WHATS for gaining muscle and losing fat. I thank Dave Ramsey for the insight to realize that weight loss also has many "laws" that govern it.

Here are ten I thought of immediately:

1. No matter what...if you stay positive and persistent, you will WIN in your efforts to gain muscle.

Those people that "keep on keeping on" are winners in all they set out to do. They may not win every single time, but it sure likens the odds they will. So be positive and have persistence. Besides, what's the alternative, being negative and quitting?

2. No matter what...if you take SOME form of action, you will be better off than not doing anything. Gaining muscle occurs by being active. You must lift weights to gain muscle. You must work out regularly.

Taking some form of action will get you further ahead than over-analyzing the situation to death and not moving at all!

3. No matter what...people do not see great results because they "know not what to do." In order to get in great shape and gain muscle, you must understand the HOW behind it. Educate yourself on the principles of gaining muscle and you'll never have to hire a trainer again(wait, then I'll be out of business).

4. No matter what...you must have fun in your fitness routine or you will not want to stay with it for long. Most of you know that optimal fitness is a life-long process. Can you imagine doing something you do not like for your entire life? (besides your job?) Have fun with your workouts!

5. No matter what...eating small, well-balanced and nutritious meals or snacks every three to four hours will get your metabolism operating more efficiently. Having a faster metabolism is vital to long-term fat loss.

6. No matter what...progressively increasing the amount of weight you lift over time will have a positive impact on how much lean muscle you build. Who does not want a little more muscle and a lot less fat. I have never had anyone tell me "Shawn, I am all set in the muscle department, can we add a little more fat now?" To gain more muscle, lift heavier over time.

7. No matter what... gaining muscle takes time. There is nothing in life worth having that happens overnight. Do be a get_____quick type of person.(You can fill in the blank.)

8. No matter what...you must create a synergy between proper nutrition, moderate aerobic exercise, and intense, brief weight-training. You must do each one well, and they will come together to produce incredible results.

9. No matter what...gaining muscle and getting in shape requires a lifestyle change. You cannot expect to continue those things that got you overweight or out of shape in the first place. To get better, you must do better. You must change your habits so they support you, not hinder you. So cut your ties to them!

10. No matter what...if you want it bad enough, you can achieve it. To take what Dave finished with last night, and put it into my own weight loss and fitness terms:

Gaining muscle and losing fat is "Whatever you will it to be." The choice is yours. You can make it happen. Or you can quit. The choice is "whatever you will it to be!"

Taking Action To Build Muscle and Lose Fat

Building muscle and losing fat is 80% behavior and only 20% know-how.

So by taking the steps of accepting responsibility, identifying specifically what you want to achieve, and choosing to make the commitment to go after it, our natural progression of movement leads us to the point of taking action to achieve your dreams.

In fact, procrastination is the killer of your dreams.

After you identify what you want, you must start heading towards those goals in well-thought out and planned action steps. When I chose to go full steam ahead with competing in a bodybuilding show, I still had to take action and move towards my goal.

After putting all of my goals and a schedule on paper, I still had to put one foot in front of the other and actually start the physical process of getting ready for the show.

I had to do the shopping for what little food I could eat. (Dieting for a bodybuilding show is extremely different than dieting for long lasting and permanent weight loss. I actually advise people to eat MORE if they want to lose weight for the long term.

It just has to be more of the good stuff, more often. Not more of the junk food. So if I scare you with my talk of eating very little, I am simply making reference to my bodybuilding competition, which, unless you are a glutton for punishment, I wouldn't recommend :-)

I had to get to the gym each and every day. I had to perform my weight training routine. I had to perform my cardio routine. I had to practice posing. I had to shave my body hair and start tanning.

I had to take consistent action each and every day towards the goal I had set for myself. All the planning in the world is useless if you fail to act upon those plans you have.

I am sure you've heard the saying "Good things come to those that wait," but I'm sure that those things are just the leftovers from those that hustle.

To get what you want, you have to go after it.

Procrastinating and not taking action will destroy any chance you have of attaining your best body ever.

But there is also another reason why people do not reach their fitness goals. It's because the act of doing something at this moment is more painful than the pleasure of doing nothing.

Getting up early to go jogging is more painful at that moment than being a bit overweight in the future.

That's why it is so important to find the specific reasons you want to lose weight. They have to be so wanted, that you will put up with short-term pain to receive long term pleasure.

Soon, by linking up all that pleasure to what you are going to look like, feel like, and be like when you lose weight will begin to have an influence on those things you have to do right now to lose weight.

Meaning, every time you have to do a cardio session, or a weight lifting session, you will begin to link pleasure with doing it and pain with not getting it done.

We've all had the experience of linking pleasure with doing something and pain with not, or vice versa.

It will be painful to finish up that report for work when we could just sit back and watch the game on TV.

Have you ever gotten an advanced notice from a teacher about a research paper that would be due in three weeks?

Did you go home that night and start the paper? Of course not. Did you do it over the first weekend? Nope.

If you were like me, you probably started it three days before it was due. Why? Because it was more painful doing it early and more pleasurable putting it off.

But what happens now that the deadline looms and gets closer? It is more painful putting it off and more pleasurable (passing the class) finishing it.

The role has reversed, what once was pleasurable procrastinating has become painful.

So to attain your best body ever, you must realize that procrastination can mean the difference between success and failure.

The Law of Momentum is one of the most powerful laws you can use to achieve your goals. On the other hand, the Law of Inertia is one that can sabotage any likelihood of you achieving your best body.

Simply put the Law of Momentum states that a body in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by some outside force.

The Law of Inertia states that a body at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by some outside force.

You can have and achieve anything you want in life if you are willing to take action to go after it.

This is what I did in my own life, I set out on a journey to discover how and why certain people were able to achieve great physiques. I knew that I too could achieve similar success if I just copied some or all of what they did.

I spent close to 2 years reading book after book on nutrition, exercise physiology, success, goal setting, and anything else remotely related to achieving physical health as well as success.

But all of those books would have been useless if I hadn't taken action and used what I read.

When you begin to take action, you will start the process of picking up momentum, like a snowball that gathers more snow as it rolls down the mountain.

Failure or success in building muscle or losing fat is not an overnight occurrence. It is an accumulation of small successes that add up. It happens one step at a time and one workout at a time. If you are persistent, you will be successful.

The Law of Momentum will keep you moving forward as long as the drive and determination are still there.

Of course, the Law of Inertia is lurking in the background, coaxing you and telling you how easy and satisfying it would be to just stay on the couch and not move.

This is why taking the first step towards weight loss is so hard, the Law of Inertia is holding you back.

Fear can paralyze you and prevent you from taking any action at all. That's why it's important to have a well thought out plan that you can take simple, small steps to build some momentum.

Once you get going, the Law of Momentum makes it easier to keep going.

When you start seeing "proof positive" results with your own body, the internal motivation to continue becomes almost unstoppable.

So get clear about what you want and start taking action TODAY!

The Best Tool For Losing Fat And Building Muscle

Resistance training is the best long-term tool for losing fat and building muscle.

The more lean muscle tissue you have, the more calories you burn at rest and on the move. The more muscle tissue you possess, the more energy your body will require to maintain that muscle.

It gets that needed energy from burning and utilizing calories. And again, the more calories you burn, the more likely fat loss to occur.

Muscle is a very metabolically active tissue. It takes a lot of work for your body to maintain it. Fat, on the other hand, takes no work to maintain. It just sits there, lumped together like, well, fat.

This is an important concept in weight loss because the more lean muscle tissue you can build, the more calories that will be burned off, without you having to do any extra work. Your muscle will burn off more calories 24/7 than if you didn't have that extra lean muscle.

This makes the case for why weight training, also known as resistance training, is so important to include in any weight loss program. Simply because if you can add a couple pounds of lean muscle to your frame, you're going to burn off more calories, even while sleeping, than if you didn't have that extra muscle.

The more calories you burn off at rest, the more likely that the calories burned off during exercise will create a calorie deficit in your body. A calorie deficit is a must for weight loss to occur.

Remember how weight gain occurs from consuming more calories than your body burns off during the day. Since there is no deficit of calories, your body does not have to dip into stored body fat to get energy. In fact, due to the surplus, it stores the extra calories as body fat.

If you create a calorie deficit, meaning, your body has used all of the energy from calories it has received from food and it still needs more (like to support muscle tissue) it is going to go after your fat stores to get that energy.

Fat is a highly condensed form of energy. So, when your body starts taking fat from fat stores to use as energy, that is how weight loss occurs.

Weight training may benefit any weight loss program, possibly more than any other component.

Weight training can be a future investment for permanent weight loss and weight maintenance because as you continue to lose stored body fat and gain lean muscle, your muscle will continue to aid in the calorie burning process.

As there becomes less stored body fat to use as energy, the muscle tissue will start to directly utilize the calories you consume on a daily basis.

Since there is now more muscle tissue than there is fat to utilize calories, chances of storing any excess calories as body fat is greatly reduced.

Resistance training may offer the most benefit of all to women past the age of menopause. It can help prevent or reverse the effects of osteoporosis by strengthening and maintaining bone density often lost by diet alone. So how much resistance training is necessary for long-term weight loss to be successful and to increase your lean muscle and strength? Not as much as you would probably think.

In fact, any more weight/resistance training than 2 to 3 hours a week may be counterproductive.

The best results I have witnessed while in the personal training field come from 3 sessions a week with weights, less than an hour each session.

Most people like the Monday, Wednesday, Friday approach to weight training. This leaves Tuesday and Thursday for cardio, which should be done separately from weight training.

Keep your weight training routine simple. It is more productive to focus effectively on a few tasks (exercises) than it is to work out with less intensity on many different ones.

On each set, try to progressively add a little more weight each time. Keep records of your weight lifts so you can try to outdo (progress) each and every workout!

Again, for the many weight loss and weight management benefits of weight training to occur, you do not have to stay for hours in the gym.

Give yourself 2 hours a week to do some form of resistance training.

If you cannot make it to a gym, invest in a pair of weight-adjustable dumbbells purchased from a nearby department store that you can use at home.

In fact, for less than the cost of a 3 month gym membership, you could probably purchase a great home gym set up with a couple pairs of dumbbells and maybe a bench and mat.

If that is even not within budget, simply lift what you have around the house, like water jugs (full, of course) or soup cans, or rocks from the garden.

Resistance is resistance and having your body progressively lift heavier weight will force it to become stronger and adapt to this demand placed upon it.

When you force your body to adapt to this resistance, it does so by creating new muscle tissue growth to handle the weight.

With this new tissue growth comes a new need for energy to maintain this muscle tissue. That is when stored fat is used and burned off.

That's why weight training is the best tool for losing fat and building muscle.

Lose Belly Fat in 30 Days with Circuit Training

Have you tried lot and are still not successful to lose belly fat? Do you want to know how to get rid of belly fat more quickly? Cardiovascular training is a good method for melting the fat of your body including your belly. But just doing the cardiovascular workout is not enough. If you are serious about melting the fat on your abs, you should give up the regular and dull exercise habits.
For losing the fat you could run miles and miles or you could chose to workout in a smart way. Though you are trying lot and are not getting reasonable results, then it may be the case that you might be committing some basic mistakes. If you are serious about it, and want to lose belly fat in 30 days, the answer is circuit training. If you desire to lose belly fat rapidly here’s a circuit training structure that should be performed correctly to lose fat in 30 days.

Total Body strength training workouts

By doing this you can lose belly fat from your body by increasing metabolism of your body and simultaneously gaining muscle.

More calories will burn if you work more muscle. The important thing to note while exercise, is that the muscle is by which the fats are burned. Strength training will help to lose fat on stomach because having more muscle implies that you burn more calories.

You may in general make mistake such as making sets of workouts on strength machine and taking rest between each set. You will be benefited more if you follow as circuit training structure. An example of a structure is given below. It is just and example, you will get an idea about total body workout be referring it. However it serves the basic purpose to lose belly fat.

After doing a 5 to 10 minutes of warm-up follow the below given steps.

a. Pushups-10 repetitions b. One arm DB row-10 reps per arm c. DB squats-12 reps d. Side planks-5 to 15 seconds per side e. Hyperextensions-12 reps f. Leg curls on stability ball 10 to 12 reps g. Standing DB overhead press-10 reps h. Abs crunches on stability ball-10 to 15 reps

Do the above-mentioned steps from start and to the end. You may take rest about 30 to 45 seconds after performing each step. Try to do all the steps 2-3 times. Depending on your rest time this entire process may take 20 to 30 minutes.

If the above-mentioned total body workout if followed, you will exercise to gain strength as well as lose belly fat. After completing total body workouts on first day, you should always wait a day before performing the second round as it gives time for your muscles to rest and recover.

Cardiovascular exercise with intervals

Instead of regular cardiovascular exercise routine that have same speed, if interval training is adopted it makes a lot of difference, as it is quicker and not boring. As you toggle between low and high intensities during the entire workout, it becomes a good way to exercise to lose belly fat.

Here’s an example:

1. For the first five minutes warm-up yourself. 2. Next 2 minutes slow, next 30 sec to 1 minutes fast as hard as you can. 3. Repeat the step 2 for 4 to 8 times. 4. Last five minutes- cool down.

By following the above routing you can make you workout time shorter but more effective. You can lose belly fat, while increasing your metabolism. The above-mentioned cardiovascular training can be done after the total body strength training workouts, for a frequency of 2 to 3 times per week.

But in the want of losing the fats quickly, one may forgot to take care of heart rate. So the better way is to check with a doctor and make sure that the exercise you are doing for losing the fat is safe for your heart.

With this structure for exercise to lose belly fat you are sure that your efforts for losing the fat will not be slow and frustrating. But at the same time taking food, which contains proper nutrients, is also very necessary in the process of losing fat. If the exercise is correctly done and care of right diet is taken, you should be able to lose belly fat by a considerable amount in 30 days.

Did You Inherit "Fat Genes" - The Truth About Biology And Body Fat

Battle Your Biology? Fat Chance," proclaimed a headline in the health section of the New York Post newspaper recently. Quoting new research and citing psychologists, dietitians and physicians, the article said that more and more evidence proves that your weight is genetically determined, and if you're fat, "it's not your fault" and there's not much you can do about it. "We've known for a while that genes - more than environment and behavior - explain obesity" argues Dr. James Rosen, an eating disorder specialist and professor at the University of Vermont.

While genetics are definitely a factor, believing you are destined to be overweight for life because you've inherited "fat genes" is the most disempowering and self-defeating attitude you could ever adopt. The only way you?ll lose weight permanently is to accept total responsibility for yourself and acknowledge the fact that you have the power to change, regardless what mother nature has given you to work with.

There's no denying that heredity plays a major role in how difficult it will be for you to lose fat. You inherited a body type, a predetermined number of fat cells, a metabolic rate and body chemistry just as you inherited your eye color and hair color. In the 1930's, Harvard psychologist Dr. William H. Sheldon developed a classification system for these different body types called "somatotyping." While there are no absolutes, Sheldon identified three basic somatotypes: ectomorphs, mesomorphs and endomorphs.

Ectomorphs are the lean, lanky types. They are usually very thin and bony, with fast metabolisms and extremely low body fat. An ectomorph can eat like a horse without gaining an ounce. Mesomorphs are the "genetically gifted." They are lean, muscular and naturally athletic. Mesomorphs lose fat and gain muscle with ease. Endomorphs are the "fat retainers." Characterized by round features, excess body fat and large joints ("big bones"), endomorphs usually have great difficulty in losing body fat. They have slow metabolisms, they are often carbohydrate sensitive, they gain fat quickly if they eat poorly or don't exercise, and they lose fat slowly - even on a healthy diet.

The tendency of endomorphs to store fat easily can be partly attributed to metabolic problems. For example, endomorphs often metabolize carbohydrates inefficiently. Normal people can eat lots of carbohydrates - up to 60% of their total calories - and they still stay lean. Endomorphs produce too much insulin when they eat carbohydrates and this leads to increased fat storage and difficulty in losing existing fat. This condition is known as "insulin resistance" or "Syndrome X."

Scientists claim that the tendency to gain weight easily may also be due to chemical imbalances in the brain that cause people to overeat. Researchers at Johns Hopkins recently announced the discovery of a compound called C75 that blocks an appetite-regulating hormone in the hypothalamus. In mice injected with the substance, 30 percent more weight was lost because the drug caused the mice to eat less. More research is planned to develop a similar appetite-suppressing drug for humans. Unlike Xenical, which blocks fat absorption in the intestine, this new drug would affect the brain's chemistry so that people feel full sooner.

Many physicians and health professionals consider these metabolic disorders and chemical imbalances as genetically transmitted "diseases" that require medical treatment. "Obesity is a disease and should be treated like one" says Jackie Newgent, spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association . This idea should be viewed with a great deal of suspicion however, because weight loss is potentially the biggest market in the world for drug sales.

According to Justin Gillis, a staff writer for the Washington Post, more than 45 companies worldwide are trying to develop new obesity drugs, and the stakes couldn't be higher. Gillis writes, "In world where a blockbuster drug is worth $1 billion a year in sales, analysts give $5 billion as the low estimate for sales of an important obesity drug. If a company developed a truly safe, effective weight loss drug, and sold it for $3 a day to one quarter of the 97 million American adults estimated to be overweight, sales would exceed $26 billion a year in this country alone."

Basically, what the medical community is trying to tell you is that if you are overweight, it's not your fault; you were born fat, so don't feel guilty - and don't worry, we have a drug that can "cure" you. Sounds like there's an ulterior motive at work here, wouldn't you agree? Before you run to get a prescription for the next "miracle" drug, you'd better wonder whose interests are being served; yours or the pharmaceutical giants.

Besides, drugs can never be the solution if they treat the symptoms and not the cause. Drugs should be considered a last resort for the morbidly obese who have already tried everything else without success and who will face serious health consequences if they don't lose weight. The editors of obesity.com said it best: "Weight loss drugs do not take the place of diet, exercise, patience, and perseverance."

"Dieting can be an uphill battle against your genes." says Post writer Joyce Cohen. Unfortunately, if you're an endomorph, Cohen is right. Losing weight is definitely easier for some people than for others and that doesn't seem fair. But that's the way life is. Life isn't fair. Let's be honest; not everyone is going to become an Olympic Gold medallist, a Mr. America or a fitness model. But don't despair - you are not doomed to live a life of fatness if you don't have "athletic genes."

Obesity is the result of many influences. Genetics is only one of them. Like it or not, the primary cause of obesity is your own behavior. Most of the factors that affect body composition are entirely under your control. These factors include how much you eat, what you eat, when you eat, what type of exercise you do, how frequently you exercise, how long you exercise and how hard you exercise.

If you have the genetic predisposition towards obesity, you can lose fat like everyone else, you're just going to have to work harder and longer at it than other people. "There is a genetic component to weight," Says Dr. Thomas Wadden, a psychologist from Syracuse University, "but no one is destined to be obese. If weight has been a major problem in your family, you may not be able to become as thin as you'd like, but you can lose weight."

If you find losing weight to be a slow and difficult process, the empowering thing to do is to look at it as asset, because overcoming this obstacle will force you to develop discipline, determination and persistence. These traits will carry over to other areas of your life and make you a stronger person all around. Arnold Schwarzennegger said, "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strength. When you overcome hardships, that is strength."

The first thing you must do if you want to lose weight or succeed in any area of your life, is to accept complete responsibility for your situation. In a short but powerful little book called "As Man Thinketh," the author James Allen wrote, "circumstances do not make a man, they reveal him." What he meant was that we are not products of our environment or our heredity (our "circumstances"), instead, we products of our own thinking and belief systems.

We create our own circumstances through positive thinking and positive action and we create negative circumstances through negative thinking and lack of action or wrong actions. In other words, we are responsible for where we are, what we have and how our bodies look.

Some people get very angry with me when I tell them this: They say, "Wait a minute. Are you trying to tell me that when bad things happen to me, it?s my own fault? That I brought unemployment, financial hardships, failed relationships, weight gain or even health problems onto myself? Because if that's what you're saying, that's totally unfair!"

Well, my friend, with very few exceptions, (some things really are out of your control) that is exactly what I am saying.

If you refuse to accept the fact that you are 100% responsible for your weight, you will never be successful. When people find themselves in undesirable situations or they aren't getting the results they want, it?s all too easy to make excuses: It's my genetics, I have big bones, I have a slow metabolism, I don't have enough time to exercise, etc. etc., etc. Making excuses is relinquishing control. It is conceding that you a victim of circumstances instead of the creator of your circumstances. Stop blaming and start taking responsibility for your life. Take action! Start working out. Eat better. Do something - do anything - but don't just sit there on the couch and curse your chromosomes.

So, are you a frustrated "endomorph?" Do you feel like dieting is an uphill battle against your genes? If your answer is "yes," please don?t just quit and chalk in up to "bad genetics," and don't believe that drugs are the answer either - they're not. Your genetics will largely dictate your athletic ability and how easily you will lose weight. That doesn't mean you can't get lean; it only means that you're going to have to adjust your diet and training to fit your body type and you may have to work harder and be more persistent than the "genetically lucky" ones.

Maybe obesity really should be classified as a genetically inherited "disease." But frankly, if you have a "disease" that forces you to learn more about exercise and nutrition, to eat nutritious foods, to adopt a healthier lifestyle, to develop a strong work ethic and to become a more persistent person, that sounds like a blessing in disguise to me.

How To Get Rid Of Fat Exposed!

How To Get Rid Of Fat Exposed!

Losing fat can be a hard uphill battle for anyone; I have struggled with my figure myself and know that it’s not easy. This article is geared towards you people that want to do something about your size, get to know the truth, and find out how to get rid of fat once and for all!
In my experience, if you have ever been into a health shop to buy fat burning supplements, read magazines or watched any commercial on the latest workout machine that you can have for X amount of dollars it is quite possible that you have been lied to and cheated out of your money. Advertisers and publishers distort and over exaggerate the truth without any factual or scientific evidence that their claims are true and that the benefits are long lasting. Words like “hard work” and “sweat” are not easily marketed images. These collections of marketers and people are good at what they do and this is why you and I have ultimately been conned.

How many “new craze” or “fad diets” do you see all over the internet, they are ten to the dozen? The most painful experience for me was realizing that I had wasted my time and money and had been taken for a ride.

How to get rid of fat is a big question that many people ask me day in, day out. Why have so many of us jumped from one diet to another? Why do we always end up back at square one, if not even two steps further back? The answer is simple, we have all been fooled.

Calorie counting diets do not work for long, they actually cause your body to go into starvation mode and your body will start to cannibalize its muscle. In time your metabolism will slow due to reduced muscle mass. Your metabolism is an ally that you can use to help you lose weight by eating the right foods in the right portions and the right times. You can really make it work for you if you stop screwing with it! By reducing the amount of calories you eat you are messing around with it and it can have drastic affects on your fat loss. If your body goes into “starvation mode” your metabolism will burn of less calories and store fat easier. This is why quite often people lose a lot of weight and then hit a plateau, where they can’t progress any further.

If you keep doing the same old things, you will keep getting the same old results. ?

Any one can lose weight; it’s losing the fat that’s the difference…

I recently purchased a book written by a guy who is a body builder, he has trained many people like himself and some top models, getting them into shape with his methods. His techniques even work when getting rid of fat from your mushiest spots. I was impressed to say the least. His book explained everything to me from setting goals, long and short term, to the foods to eat. It really is a “do that, do this…don’t eat that eat this” kind of book and it really helped me see great results just like he claimed it would. He has all the evidence to back it up. When my friends saw how much progress I had made in my endeavors they were jealous! I have shrunk but my confidence has grown!

This book banishes the myths and exposes the lies that so many of us have bought into and takes you through each chapter logically and ethically. There is no mention of drugs or supplements; just how to do it right and keep getting it right.

The whole process of how our bodies work is explained in a 300+ page format with a wealth of information that you will definitely not see any where else. This book has changed my life. Don’t get me wrong, I do have one criticism and that is that the food he recommends could do with a bit of spicing up as it can be bland at times but other than that it’s fantastic.

I will never use another diet again!

Fit for Life

Fit for Life
You’ve been using the same workout for 20 years. The result? Two arthritic shoulders and a sacroiliac joint that threatens to immobilize you every time you get out the car. But it’s not too late for you.
Tips for Enhancing Performance

Running

Pounding the pavements erodes your body’s natural shock absorbers – cartilage, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Each step exerts a force of up to five times your weight and encourages these body parts to protest through inflammation, pain and even rupture.

Walk as well as run. Varying intensity within a workout is a tactic runners use to get faster or go longer. Walking burns the same number of kilojoules as running and reduces common overuse injuries, such as shin splints. Use a one-to-one ratio if you’re getting into shape after a layoff, then gradually ratchet up the run portion. Walk one kilometer for every six kilometers you run.

Triathlons

These events are filled with former distance runners looking for a new rush and a way to take some strain off their battered bones. Triathlon training also allows a marathoner to use health benefits gained from years of long distance training; increased lung capacity and an abundance of slow twitch muscle fibers, which enhance aerobic endurance.

Rugby/Soccer

The sudden starts and stops involved in touch rugby place tremendous lateral force on your ankles and knees, and the diving (actually landing) sends injury causing shock waves throughout your body.

Break a sweat before you start playing. One guy we know hits the hot showers for 10 minutes before playing to make sure he’s warm. No showers? This simple 10 minute warm up will drastically reduce your chances of getting hurt. Do each of these the length of the field up to the half way line and back while wind milling your arms, then stretch as usual; jog, skip, shuffle (continually slide one leg to meet the other without crossing them; don’t forget to bend your knees), karaoke (run sideways, continually crossing one leg in front of and then behind the other), run backwards and skip as high as you can.

Volleyball

This activity incorporates the same lateral movement and quick jumping ability you’ve developed, but it doesn’t require you to cover as much ground.

Cricket

Playing cricket does little to improve your overall fitness so you have to put in time away from the pitch if you want to avoid rotator cuff tears and elbow or shoulder tendonosis.

Lift weights. It will strengthen your rotator cuff and surrounding muscles to protect you from suffering a tear. The best moves are; lateral raise, lat pull downs and lat rows. Stretch your shoulders before the first over by raising your throwing arm straight above your head, bending it at the elbow, then gently pushing it down and toward your spine with your other hand. Repeat with the opposite arm.

Golf

Golf is easier on your body because you don’t have the sudden starts and stops, and the swing aren’t as violent. Since the ball isn’t moving, you don’t have to reach at odd angles to hit it, which can cause muscle strains. Golf is also better for your heart and gobbles up plenty of kilojoules.

Swimming

Because swimming is non weight bearing, injuries are few. When swimmers do get hurt, they tend to suffer from overuse injuries in their shoulders and knees. Have a coach analyze your stroke each year for glitches so you don’t fall into injury inducing bad habits. Mix breaststroke, backstroke or butterfly in with your freestyle every fourth lap to reduce your risk of hurting a shoulder joint. Strength training is important for swimmers to help balance their musculature and to strengthen bones and tendons that don’t get trained in the pool. The most important lifts; bench press for balance and squats for push off and kicking.

Single Scull Rowing

Single scull rowing will capitalize on the endurance and pain tolerance you’ve built while still allowing you to compete mano-a-mano on the water using your arms and legs to pull you through.

Cycling

Crashes cause most injuries – damn drivers – but repeating the same motion again and again and again while sitting hunched over the handlebar also puts stress on the vertebrae in your lower back, which causes pain.

Simply changing the angle of your bike seat could save your back. Back pain in cyclists is caused when the angle between the pelvis and the lower end of the spinal column is overextended. Tilting the seat forward 10 to 15 degrees reduces the strain on the muscles and realigns the bones. Most important; spin, don’t strain, by using higher gears. Lower gears can make you feel like you’re working much harder, but a faster cadence is easier on your body and more efficient.

Soccer

You’ve spent years building endurance and Lance-like quads. Now use them on the field, where both qualities will give you a leg up on the competition, and the wide variety of movements you’ll deploy will round out your fitness. You’ll also play on grass, which is heaven for joints and muscles.

Tennis

Nearly half of all tennis players suffer from ‘tennis elbow’ (medial epicondylitis). Lower back strains and shoulder and ankle injuries are common. Playing a lot of tennis weakens your shoulder blade muscles by repeatedly stretching and fatiguing the tissues.

Tennis is a terrific lifelong sport – if you keep your strength and flexibility by doing strength training and stretching. To get the great workout without the elbow or shoulder problems, do military presses. While sitting on a bench or chair, raise a pair of dumbbells to shoulder height. Press the weights overhead. Do 10 to 12 repetitions. Repeat.

Martial Arts

Martial arts, such as tae kwon do or kickboxing, enhance the abilities you’ve developed in tennis, while adding the missing factor of flexibility. You can also take out your aggression on a real person while eliminating the repetitive motion that causes injuries in tennis.
